Prescription Renewal Policy

The Ingersoll Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic is committed to providing quality, accessible, client –centred health care.

In order to ensure safe prescribing practices, adequate follow up regarding your health issues, and ensure your Nurse Practitioner’s availability for face-to-face patient care, prescription renewal requests are not routinely honoured.

Medications will be renewed in person during your appointment. Your Nurse Practitioner will provide you with enough medication until she needs to see you again.

Below are some suggestions on how to be sure you don’t run out of medication:

  • Make an appointment with your Nurse Practitioner before your medication runs out.
  • Bring a list of your current medications to each appointment.
  • Check with your pharmacist before your next appointment to determine if you will need any renewals.

We recognize that some of our patients have unique situations and will find our prescription renewal policy challenging. Please speak to your Nurse Practitioner if you have any questions or concerns so that we work together on a plan that meet your needs.
